ALPHARETTA, GA -- If you're a fan of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, but don't want to travel inside the perimeter to satisfy your craving, you can now hop on over to Alpharetta for a savory treat.
The shop has opened in Avalon, the bustling mixed-use community situated along Old Milton Parkway near GA-400 in Alpharetta. Jeni's has locations at Westside Provisions, Krog Street Market and Decatur Square.
Taking the brand's commitment to community and service into account — as well as the delicious ice cream it's known for — award-winning architecture firm MBH Architects was tapped to create a fun, modern jewel box design that is just as cool as the treats served inside.
The standalone store is located in the center of a street within the development, and features a sloped roof with windows wrapping around most of the exterior. MBH's task was to instill the building with the Jeni's culture that brand loyalists have come to know and love.
Jeni's uses pure ingredients to create its very sophisticated and specialized ice cream, which is reflected in the interiors' pure white design. Details like wood accents and a chalkboard with a handwritten menu — a staple at every Jeni's location — add warmth to the interiors.
The space is complete with natural light from a wall of glass windows and an outdoor patio. At night, the building is lit up, emphasizing the activities in the area and acting as a beacon that draws people to the shop.The Alpharetta store is located at 800 Avalon Boulevard.
