We are seeking a highly organized, versatile person to join our team in Alameda as a Store Planner. This role leads internal design teams on fast-paced projects in a variety of operations including store planning and layouts for a global retail tech company's worldwide program.

Under general direction from the Project Manager, Studio Director or Principal in Charge, responsible for managing the work of junior staff and consultants to develop and produce comprehensive project deliverables.


Job Duties:

  • Maintain understanding of specifications and store guidelines per region.

  • Share your acquired knowledge and lessons learned with your team and across MBH.

  • Build upon existing MBH standards and further refine project process.

  • Keep PM’s & Studio Director informed of changes in scope or schedule.

  • Train and mentor junior staff.

  • Delegate tasks and provide direction to junior staff.

  • Oversee projects through completion via Jira (Project Management software) and ensure deadlines are being met efficiently.

  • Lead the production team to create, assemble and issue client deliverables utilizing CAD, Revit, Cinema 4D, Bluebeam, Sketchup, Enscape or other medium.

  • Provide corrections, revisions, red line changes and comments to junior staff.

  • Coordinate work between staff and consultants.

  • Review and revise design intent.

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across projects.

  • Implement ways to improve production methods.

  • Develop and maintain the trust and confidence of the client.

  • Manage project communications internally and externally – Effectively communicate with the client, manage client expectations, and handle project issues conscientiously.

  • Produce technically, functionally, and aesthetically well-designed deliverables.

  • Assist with special projects.

  • Evaluate site surveys.

  • Client presentations.

  • Develop facilities floor plan recommendations.

  • Refresh existing stores to fit within new guidelines.

  • Occasional travel to the client’s office.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years of experience.

  • Experience leading a team.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture or Interior Design.

  • Proficiency in BIM Software – Revit or AutoCAD.

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to change and juggle various tasks within a timely and expedient manner, paying special attention to accuracy and communication with multiple team members.

Compensation: $85,000 - $102,500
