DOWN IN BURLINGAME

There’s a cool new mural by San Mateo designer Don Donoughe on a new mixed used development at 240 Lorton Ave. in Burlingame.

Commissioned by the Burlingame Historical Society and funded by the Dewey Land Company (which worked with MBH Architects on the project), the mural is inspired by classic postcard images.

Each large letter in the phrase “Greetings from Burlingame, California” includes a nod to a local historic site (the main library and the local high school circa the 1930s are pictured) and there’s also an image of the city’s namesake, Anson Burlingame, from 1866.
