We are seeking a highly organized, versatile person to join our client-facing team as a Designer. This position takes responsibility for design conceptualization and engineering tasks for high-end retail fixtures, including adherence to client product, industry, and process standards; and the development of technical drawings that meet our client’s scope while enabling profitable manufacturing and installing of the product. The incumbent ensures that designs are supported by accurate product data, shop drawings and supporting documentation to allow for on time and complete fabrication and installation.

Job Duties

  • Produce 3D visualization studies of design options and finish selections of retail store fixtures

  • Work on the design conceptualization, coordination, and successful execution of Visual Merchandising fixtures regarding global launches as well as permanent units in retail environments.

  • Based on creative requests/briefs, develop designs that are clear, visually impactful, easy to navigate and consistent with overall channel designs

  • Production design and development of retail store fixtures, addressing technical issues and drafting working models and drawings

  • Review build partner drawings to identify and document any deviations from product and installation standards

  • Assist with creating models, mockups and design validation samples from sketches and architectural drawings

  • Maintain samples, specification sheets, design guide content and internal procedures documentation

  • Assist in research and development efforts and generation of reports relating to materials and manufacturing techniques, coordinating with a variety of vendors and industries

 

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 year design and visualization experience in metal, wood, and leather product manufacturing; experience with retail clients preferred.

  • Experience with prototyping, product testing, and client-facing / vendor-facing work is a plus.

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Solid Works, Rhino, Inventor, Revit or similar platforms required as well as knowledge of millwork, fixtures, furniture, cabinetry or related industries.

  • Degree in architecture, industrial or engineering design, graphic/creative arts, or related fields preferred
