Serramonte Corporate Center Project Underway
Foundation construction is currently underway on the Serramonte Corporate
Center, a six-story, 151,000 square foot mid-rise office building. The
site is strategically located near Hickey Boulevard and Interstate 280
in Daly City, California, approximately midway between downtown San
Francisco and the San Francisco International Airport. The developer
is the Dewey Land Company of San Mateo and MBH Architects of Alameda
is the Executive and Design Architect.
MBH Architects has designed this Modernist glass and steel building with respect for the surrounding single family neighborhood to the south. The building will be a prominent focal point for Daly City as it will be serve as a visual entrance to the city. The rectilinear structure is composed of an elongated solid volume partially split by an entryway with an inverted canopy. The top sixth floor is pulled back from the building perimeter adding an important variation to the structure.
The materials utilized will be glass, metal and GFRC (granite, fiberglass, rock, concrete) panels for the building’s exterior skin, achieving a contemporary aesthetic and lending a strong profile to the main entry. Ample parking will be provided with 450 parking stalls available in a three-story subterranean parking garage. The completion date for the center is scheduled for the Fall of 2001.
MBH Architects was established in 1989 and now employs 170 professionals specializing in retail, hospitality, commercial, housing and restaurant projects both in the United States and abroad. In addition to Alameda, MBH Architects has offices in Newport Beach and Las Vegas, Nevada.
