4-Inch StudsThe Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, CLEVELAND, OH – On October 7th the MBH corporate band, the 4-Inch Studs, rocked their way through an amazing set at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum at the Finals of the Sixth Annual FORTUNE Battle of the Corporate Bands.

The Studs played a six song set including Heartbreaker by Led Zeppelin, Fool for the City by Foghat, and rounded out their allotted 20 minutes (not wasting a second) with an extended version of AC/DC’s Highway to Hell. They competed against nine other bands and put on an incredible show. The winning band was Cambridge Insurance of Australia.

The “FORTUNE Battle of the Corporate Bands” is a partnership with NAMM, the International Music Products Association, FORTUNE magazine and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s Educational Programs. This annual event celebrates the positive effects that music has on productivity and morale in the business world and raises funds for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s music education programs.

As in previous years, bands that entered the “Battle” submitted a three-song CD. From these, 18 bands were chosen to participate in one of three qualifying regional “Battles” that took place in New York, NY at the Knitting Factory, Nashville, TN at the Gibson Custom Shop, and Los Angeles, California at The Key Club. The 4-Inch Studs qualified at the Key Club and made the trip to Cleveland to compete against the best of the best at the Rock Hall.

The 4-Inch Studs, made up of, John McNulty, David Delasantos, Bruce Clement, Rick Nelson and Joe Selby (Novartis) were one of 40 original entrants in this national competition. The event continues to grow in popularity each year. In 2000, the first year of the Battle of the Corporate Bands, ten bands entered the competition.
The “FORTUNE Battle of The Corporate Bands” encourages friendly competition among a vast variety of companies that support their employees, recognizing that music helps develop teamwork, discipline, creativity, passion, harmony and commitment – all skills that are valued in business.
