First Female Principal Named at MBH Architects: Rebecca Ross
Rebecca
Ross, an indispensable asset to MBH for nine years, has been promoted
to Principal. Ms. Ross has headed up the Retail Studio at MBH for the
last 6 years, after joining the company as Project Manager in 1997.
Ms. Ross received her Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis
Obispo. She has over 15 years of retail architecture experience and
has jumped into her new responsibilities with enthusiasm and vigor.
Ms. Ross has quickly and efficiently worked her way up the ladder with an instinct for client relations, being promoted to Account Manager for valued MBH client, Target Corporation, and then being named Senior Associate.
“Rebecca has handled, with the very highest level of business and professional acumen, the largest single client within MBH. She has demonstrated a genuine commitment to the firm and to the client and deserves this recognition of her efforts and of her success,” John McNulty, Founding Principal, said.
Ms. Ross was named Studio Director in 2001 for the Retail Studio, which remains the largest in the firm, with 30+ people, and it is the only Studio with locations in both the Alameda and Newport Beach offices.
“Rebecca took the Retail Studio to a new level; she built upon it and turned it into her own success story. She adds tremendous value through her team building skills, client relationships and leadership. She absolutely exemplifies what it means to be a leader at MBH,” Joseph Smart, Principal, said.
During her tenure in the Retail Studio she has managed other accounts including Best Buy, Mervyns and Tully’s. Over the past few years she has helped expanded the MBH retail client base to include Trader Joe’s and Elephant Pharmacy. Ms. Ross has seen through to completion 500+ projects since joining MBH.
“We put Rebecca in a position of responsibility and supplied her with the tools to do her job. She responded by consistently delivering upon her promises. She is intelligent, perceptive and has the intuition to understand the nuances of managing a large team. She has demonstrated her understanding of the MBH philosophy and our Standard of Care. She is richly deserving of this appointment.” Mr. McNulty said.
On December 17th, 2005, Ms. Ross was named the first female principal of the firm. We wish her the best of luck and success in this new position.
